Location
Weihai city is located at the eastern tip of Shandong Peninsula and at Longitude 120°11′-122°42′ E and latitude 36°41′-37°35′N. The city land is surrounded by the Yellow Sea on three sides of the south, east and north. The eastern part of the city is opposite to Liaodong Peninsula , western part borders on Yantai city. Across the sea Japanese Archipelago is in the east and Korean peninsula is in the southeast.
Population and Geography
Horizontal distance of the city is 135 km from east to west; The longitudinal length is 81 kilometers away from north and south. The city proper has an area of 769 square kilometers.Weihai has the jurisdiction over three county-level cities of Rongcheng, Wendeng, Rushan and one district of Huancui as well as two state-level development zones. At the end of 2008, the total population has reached 252 millions， among these, the urban population is 569,438.The coastal line of Weihai is 985.9 kilometers long, accounting for 1/3 of that in Shandong Peninsula.

Climate and Enviornment
The climate in Weihai is the typical Temperate Continental Monsoon Climate. With the four seasons distinctively different, Weihai enjoys agreeable  climates and abundant rainfalls.The yearly average temperature is 12℃(53.6F). The highest  temperature  usually  appears in July and August with an average  temperature of 24.4℃（76F）,but it’s cool in morning and evening. The yearly rainfall of the area is  730.2 mm.Usually,the south wind and southeast wind usually blow in July and August.
